Kerela Backwaters

The end of the 2nd tutorial on Thursday meant that we could get away and see a bit of India.  Our choice was to travel the hot, sweaty and very bumpy 7 hours to Cochin on the West coast of India.  Once a dutch and Portuguese trading port there are some great iconic images of India - some of which I have tried to capture here. From the Kerela backwaters, to the golden beach at Cherai at the chinese fishing nets - we saw them all.

We stayed at a lovely little beach resort called Les 3 Elephants on Cherai Beach, run by a french couple we had a really relaxing time - if someone had told me 6 months ago that I would be enjoying a long weekend in Kerela - I would not have believed them.
